GirlFreitag: (The pattern designer with her head in the clouds, hands in the yarn and feet in the mud!) I would much rather spend my time crafting and creating or playing in the yard, than cleaning…this could be a problem (or not?)
Designing is a passion, a driving force within…when my mind hits a blank in one area I move on to my next art or craft. I do believe I will never suffer the curse of boredom! I have a weakness for: knitting & crochet, paper crafting & rubber stamps, gardening & cooking (both the activities & supplies) craft books (actually, books in general) as well as sewing/quilting, watching clouds, birds, butterflies, the neighborhood cats and dogs…All that, and eating ice cream! That's my witty way of saying that maybe I have a creative problem! Animal lover, I really can’t understand how one could not be. Book collector, in a wide variety of types and genres (with periodic stints as a very avid reader – those be good times!) I love to dabble in gardening, the colors the textures, the whole experience I love to create a bountiful oasis for the bees, the butterflies and the birds in the relatively sterile environments that exist in most neighborhoods. Cooking, baking and let us not forget eating! All hail the Food Network! Alton Brown is my hero. Slightly scatterbrained - especially when the brain is in design mode… my almost permanent residence! Definitely accident prone…I swear most inanimate objects aren’t! And sometimes, not always, just a wee bit forgetful… Occasionally I’m firing on all cylinders – hold onto your britches when that happens! Wedded Bliss… At least on my end! Live the golden Rule. |
BoyFreitag: My best friend, champion, protector, partner, collaborator and the brains behind this operation…The poor man has me to contend with!
(The one with all the technical knowledge & Skills…and memory to boot!) He is provider of the knowledge & expertise that brings GirlFreitags ideas to fruition. Her anchor and guide thru the ‘real’ world… when she lands on solid ground after one of her flights of fancy! He helps to provide her a supply of do-dah’s & frippery (read: yarn, supplies and other accoutrements.) to keep her creative juices flowing. He provides technical, emotional and other support in the Home, in the Garden and Online. Being the more Down-to-Earth of the two of us, he keeps life at the Hobbit-hole on track. He is the one who reminds her to: put on sunscreen; that she is cooking something in the kitchen which is just about to burn; that her sisters birthday is tomorrow; and that Edison invented the light bulb… to enable her to knit with her work more than an inch from her face if she would take the time to turn on the lights! He is not ALL Left-Brained…He has an incredible creative streak too – which helps to spur ideas for GirlFreitag as well, when she has a dry spell now and then. Oh, and the man can cook! He is the Sun, Moon and Stars…He is GirlFreitags World & Love of her life! |
